Description
This is a painting of an old fishing schooner entering Penobscot Bay, Maine shrouded in fog. A man who worked with my daughter-in-law asked if I could complete a painting his grandfather had started as a gift. Sadly, his grandfather Louis Boeri passed away after he had started on the water and sky. I tried to use as much as I could of the original water and the upper sky with the fog. I painted Mr Boeri's signature in the style he had used and added my name with a slash. Coincidentally, while I was working on the painting I watched a Spencer Tracy movie "Captains Courageous." in which the fishing boat in the movie was the same as the one in the old picture that Mr. Boeri used as a model. It was the style of the schooner "Bluenose."
